  • The PTA raised more than $13,000.00 during the 2007/2008 school year.  The top three fundraisers, in order of amounts raised, were Otterfest, the Gingerbread Shoppe, and Original Artworks.

  • Nearly 1/3 of the net amount raised by the PTA is spent on special assemblies for the children.  In the 2007-2008 year alone, PTA paid for five excellent theatre productions for our children.  Without the PTA, these productions will not continue.

  • The PTA sponsors and fully funds the following school programs and activities:

Otterfest.  This is the school’s annual fall festival. It is a fundraiser, but also a day of fun for the families in our community.  This event includes inflatable rides, a rock climbing wall, carnival type games, food, a bake sale table, a cake auction, and a silent auction. It is a good start to our school  year and a great way for parents to get involved with PTA and the school.

Gingerbread Shoppe.  At Christmas, the PTA sponsors this three day event to allow the children to purchase inexpensive gifts for the special adults in their lives. Parent and grandparent volunteers help students choose and wrap gifts.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.  Held each May, this event hosted by the PTA is instrumental in showing our teachers how much we appreciate their hard work.  PTA volunteers donate the food and labor to make this day a special one for the teachers.

  •  In conjunction with teaching staff, the PTA supports and funds Reading is Right Night and Math Carnival.  These events each offer an evening of family entertainment which focuses upon math or reading related activities.

  • The PTA also contributes money and volunteers for the following programs and activities; without PTA support, some or all may be eliminated:  Sock Hop, AES participation in the All County Chorus, AES Basketball and Cheerleading, Field Day, and receptions following Otter Awards ceremonies.

  • Nearly 25% of the funds raised by the PTA are spent on teacher and staff appreciation.  The PTA is instrumental in communicating our gratitude for the hard work the teachers do to educate and care for our children.
