A Reflection of My Years at AES

These are my reflections of the years I was at AES.  Everything from my beloved teachers, to some hilarious moments, this is my report.  I hope you enjoy it.

This was my first year at AES, and things were going well.  My teacher was none other than the first grade teacher, Mrs. Dove.  She was very, very nice.  It was this year that I made a new friend, and his name is Henry.  He is a very good friend who'll stand by your side.  But Henry was in something I wasn't in, TAG.  I was jealous, but that was going to change.  I later was assigned to a TAG test, which I passed.  I was glad that I became an official TAG member when I passed that test.

It was the second year at AES, and it was OK.  My teacher was Mrs. Gardener, and she was pretty nice.  I even made another new friend, whose name was James.  But, not everything went well.  During that year, we never, that's right, never went on a field trip.  That was just disappointing, but things were about to get better.

This was my third year at AES, and it was the best grade of my life.  My teacher was Mr. Shaffer, the star teacher for me.  I'm proud of being one of his students, because he is the type of teacher to have a festival with. He knows this game that helps you get ready for spelling tests, and it's very amusing.  The winner gets Skittles, which has a special flavor called Strawberry Smoothie.  Another thing special was that I made new friends.  They are Gavin and Tobi.  Then on Field Day, it turns out that Tobi and Carolyn were picked to be the man and woman for our class.  I actually picked them for that particular thing.

Now, it's the fourth year at AES, and things were doing fine.  My teacher was Ms. McCray, and she was a very delicate teacher.  But, the special thing about 4th grade was that for a field trip, we went to Jamestown!  It was the best field trip ever.  But then, Ms. McCray announced something important.  She was leaving AES to be the Vice Principal at Pungoteague.  She must have been so excited.

Finally, it's the last year at AES.  My teacher is Mrs. Kio, and she's very nice.  This time, however, I have a lot of events to remember.  One of the things I'll remember is All County Chorus.  This was the first time I did it, so I was pretty excited. In fact, we did very well when we sang in front of the audience.  Another thing was about my picture.  I drew a picture so divine that it'll be in the newspaper.  Wow!  I also did a D.A.R.E. Report, and I was 2nd place in my class!  Another thing I did was win 3rd place in the Quiz Bowl with Paul, Henry, and Austin.  The last and final thing I'll remember is when Mrs. Kio had a baby.  I have never had a teacher who had a baby while I was one of their students.

Well, that was my report. It was everything I remember from AES.  I'll miss that school, but I will have these memories with me for the rest of my life.

AES 5th Grade Graduation Essay

Well, I’ve finally done it.  I was one of the role models in elementary school and now I am going on to middle school.  I wouldn’t have made it this far if it hadn’t been for the excellent teachers that have taught us all.  We, one and all, are very thankful for what this school has done.  Every year has had its ups and downs, but with all the fun and educational activities, we didn’t even notice how fast the years have gone.  We were kept in line by stern staff and fun teachers.  When some kids got in trouble, we learned not to do the same thing, lest we also get the punishment.

I can’t wait until next year when I can show off all my skills at Nandua Middle and surprise all the teachers. Then they will know that Accomack Elementary has great teachers and students.

School Days at Accawmacke Elementary

My years at Accawmacke Elementary were a time of joy and education. Every day was an adventure of learning, a social maturity, and a life lesson. Here I will tell you about the time I spent at AES.

Kindergarten was my first wonderful year at AES, and the day I walked in with my new red back pack and Buzz Lightyear lunchbox was a major influence on my life.  I spotted skinny kids, tall kids, cool kids, weird kids, short kids, tubby kids, and even all of the above kids. As I strolled into Mrs. Harmon’s class with my white Nikes, I knew it was going to be a fantastic year.

First grade was a year with the same welcoming love as kindergarten. My teacher was Mrs. Dove, and she was a gosh darn purty teacher if I’ve ever seen one. I faintly remember dreamily replying “ting tang walla walla bing bang” when she first asked me to answer a question. Second grade was also a good year because my teacher, Mrs. Kidd, let us talk for no reason. It was also a bad year because I was bullied for the first time then.

Third grade was my favorite year because my best friend, James Manetz was in my class. He moved away in June, though. Mrs. Farrell was my teacher, and she was totally awesome and fun. Her southern accent was oddly comforting to me.

Fourth grade was a troublesome year for me, although I loved making schemes such a hurling various things at Mrs. McCray and Mrs. Bynum. Tyrone Gayle, Megan Heitman and Austin Murphy were my new friends I made.

Fifth grade was probably the most fun grade I’ve ever been in. I made many new friends, such as Roddrick Jenkins, Dylan Cox and Noah Ashe. The Beta convention was stupendous, and the hotel room was extremely comfortable. At the convention dance I complained the music was too loud and went to the room. Austin Murphy got all the girl’s numbers. Darn that Austin Murphy!

I hope that when I walk through the doors at NMS I will feel the same awesomeness as I did at AES.
